how do I highlight multiple files on the desktop to delete at once. I open the desktop from the bottom bar but can't get the files to highlight with the shift key like I could on the regular desktop. do I need to hit show desktop to work with files. sorry just started using winstep extream. thanks

Unfortunately you can't select multiple files/shortcuts on the Shelf, you will have to delete those files one by one.

Yes, I know this is somewhat of a limitation, sorry, I will probably address this in the near future.
