I seem to be having problem with win taskbar. I unchecked allow nextstart..in preferences-taskbar and checked keep win taskbar visible. What that does is close winstep taskbar but win taskbar is invisble or transparant. I tried to reset to installation defaults but no go for win taskbar. Any solutions?

first thing to try is see if you set it to autohide. did you bump the screen edge you have it on?

Yes, tried that.
It seems it has place reserved for it but it doesnt show.
Look at these pics:

Image
Autohide on, shelf is on the bottom

Image
Autohide off, shelf is positioned higher.

p.s.:Made shortcut to taskbar, so i can see its properties.

o.k. that's going to be something with windows itself. i'd suggest going to sevenforums and starting a thread there.

When I quit winstep win taskbar is normal. It must be a setting in workshelf, because if I open nextStart, i have both taskbars, but when i open workshelf win taskbar is gone, never to be seen again :p

There is another hide win taskbar under dock settings (which is a part of shelf) i believe. After i created a dock (which at some point i had and settings stuck around) and then reset everything under troubleshooting, i got win taskbar back.
Thanks for the help.
