Is there a way to hide the shelf when a maximised window is open? I mean if I have my browser maximised then it covers the shelf which would only become visible when I mouse over the area where the shelf is, something like ObjectDock does?
Thanks
Alan

Go into the WorkShelf Properties by pressing ctrl+F11, or right-clicking on WorkShelf > Shelf > Shelf Properties. The following are preferences that must be checked.

Click on the Position tab. Check the box Respect space reserved by other docks toolbars...

Click on the Behavior tab. Check the boxes for the following:

Auto-hide after a short delay and also
Activate shelf by bumping the screen edge...
Keep shelf visible when pressing WIN+D...

Click on Auto-hide Settings.

I have the slider set on the 3rd dot from the left.

I have Animation speed: set to the 4th dot from the left.

I checked the box Hide expanded shelf when clicking on active tab label

Click on Activation Settings

I have the slider set on the 2nd dot from the left.

I checked the box Select a different tab just by mousing over it

Click on Edge Swipe I have Distance in pixels... set to the very end (512 pixels)

Maximum time allowed... I have it set on the first dot on the left.

Items I have checked that aren't a must are:

Click on the Position tab. Check the box Dock to screen edge (leave unselected for a floating...

Attach to which screen edge? Top

Span the full screen...

I think everything else left is set on the original default settings.

Then of course after all of that, click Apply then OK.

For me, the easiest way to increase the working area (so that the taskbar and upper application panels are not displayed) is to press Ctrl and f11. This is the simplest solution.
