well I think this app is great. but for some unknown reason, it's never smooth as good old RK launcher. sure it has ton more features and it's full of customization options, but all of that is useless as using Nexus always points me to the same result: quitting the dock and going back to the lame taskbar and RK. Why? could there be something wrong on my part (64Gb Ryzen pc with 12GB 3060) ??? launch RK and every icon is rendered smoothly, magnification runs perfect. launch Nexus, and it never gives you the same smoothness. every now and then it will render with all sort of pausing or "jumping".

I think the keyword here is "every now and then". I assume Nexus runs smoothly most of the time then?

What version of Windows are you running?

Is there a pattern/trigger for the dock to start to stutter? Just to confirm again, it does run smooth most of the time, right?

usually the pattern is that if I didn't use the dock for some time and then access it, it will flicker and "jump" then work smoother. living it be for a while and re-accessing it - and it happens again.

That sounds like Windows is paging Nexus out of memory after a period of inactivity and into disk, then back again when you use it.

Are you familiar with the concept of paging files? This is not a Nexus issue, it's a Windows/memory management issue on your system.

How much RAM does your system have? Is the OS partition on a SSD or on a hard disk?

Well, something else must be causing the stutters then... it sure doesn't happen here and, as you said, it only happens when you don't use the dock for some time.

What shortcuts do you have on your dock? Anything to non-local (LAN) content?
