Post subject:  NeXT-like file browser scrolling behaviour
Just thought of something. Using the NeXT file browser and clicking
in the scrollbar area (trough?) doesn't do page up/down but will
go to the top or bottom of a file list.
I reckon it's always been this way but is it possible to get it
to act the way we've become accustomed to?

It's a minor thing and dragging and scrolling are okay but I always
forget initially and click in the trough thinking it'll page down or up.

The NeXT style browser is intended to mimic the, well, file browser in the NeXT OS. :D That's how scrollbars behave there.

Keep in mind you can always use the regular Windows file browser instead by selecting the relevant option in the Global Preferences tab.

Nah, I'll stick with the NeXT browser.
I've always liked the horizonal bar to easily get back up to the top
of a directory tree. A lot lessing clicking that way.
