I uninstalled a trial version of Winstep 11.6 and it has taken my start menu and everything. Anything I click on besides this firefox window I had open already, brings up the Winstep registration page on preferences. I can't escape this menu. I even tried to click register now and it didn't help. I literally have no start menu to do a restart, not that I would, I may never get it back on! If I click where the start menu should be, (but isn't) It again brings up the reg page.

This is serious, please help me here.

Brenda, just click the Exit button in the Preferences window. This will exit NextSTART and restore the normal windows taskbar.

Aditionaly, you can always access the Windows Start menu by pressing the WIN key on your keyboard.

Furthermore, you say you uninstalled Winstep Xtreme, but that can't be right - first you need to *exit* Xtreme to be able to uninstall it (otherwise you get a 'Winstep Xtreme is still running, please exit it first' prompt), second, if you had, you obviously would not be seing the Registrations screen of Preferences as the application would have been removed from your PC.

Exit Xtreme (i.e.; all running Winstep applications) *then* uninstall it from the Add/Remove Programs applet in the Control Panel.

Yes, I think it stinks also. I am sorry that you think there is something hokey here, I promise there isn't.
I did click the exit button, the registration page remained tho. I went into the program files and uninstalled from there, it did not uninstall all of winstep, The lower control panel remained. I tried to restore my computer to an earlier date and it wouldn't even allow that. I searched and found an earlier version and installed it, finally I have access to everything again. Now I just need to figure out why it is behaving this way and fix it before I get that reg page again. I was willing to purchase the upgrade just to get my system back, it wouldn't go there either. I am not real experienced inside my computer, but am learning some.
