 Post subject: 2 monitor problem, taskbar offscreen

I have a problem when I switch from 2 to 1 monitors I sometimes lose my floating taskbar offscreen and I don't know any way to get it again. Rebooting or restarting has no effect.

Have you tried opening Preferences -> Taskbar -> Taskbar Settings button, and changing the taskbar docking setting there temporarily (i.e.; change, then press Apply then Cancel)?
