Chucky, there is so much that you said I can't visualize what you're saying. Please make a video of those things in action so I and others can clearly see what your configuration does.

o.k. i'm assuming your the same member that posted in the last thread i commented in. now i know what you are talking about here. the panel is called nextstart in winstep and the task bar in windows. please see the other thread for suggestions.

and the reasons for that will be obvious once you take the time and read the reply I posted yesterday for you.

The duplicate post which, until I had my little misunderstanding and provoked you to make an explanation, I was completely unaware of? - Generally, when a moderator does this, it's in good taste to leave a note where the person's post had been (or a PM, which I also didn't get) saying "your post was moved to a more relevant section of the forum, go 'here' to see it," so they don't get upset and jump to conclusions about what happened. Also, sorry for snapping at you, Chuck. Yours was the last post after mine and I couldn't really understand what you were saying, so I simply interpreted it as being directed at me and assumed you were the person who had deleted it.

UoPoko another suggestion i can make for you is to create a folder of the shortcuts you want, hide it somewhere and add a shortcut to that folder to your dock.

Found it: Standalone Stack
Chucky, why the hell are you making a *folder* of shortcuts on disk and then make an icon of that folder in the dock???

That's how RocketDock's stack docklet system works,
and personally I rather like it...
http://s11.postimg.org/5g2x3aacj/Rocket ... ocklet.png

Could it be better? Of course it could. Ability to
define box width and height in icons and also adjust
size of icons within the stack docklet as well as their
up and down spacing would be one improvement, being able
to directly right click on icons inside the stack docklet
and edit their appearance and properties instead of having
to do this from inside the folder where the icons for that
stack docklet are contained, would be another...

But PunkLabs quit updating RocketDock ages ago...
Emerge still gets worked on and re-released. I rather
like my SysTray and ActiveItems tray as adjustable columns,
and also having my "Start Bar" as a series of tabs that
appear wherever I right click on my Icon-Free desktop.

As for the piracy accusation, I only did the trial-run
of Nexus to check out its Dock. I care about no other
aspect of the software than the Dock because Emerge
already serves my need for an alternate Windows shell...
and for now, even though RD does have its occasional
hiccups (losing the properties for my 'Access' stack
docklet from time to time on reboot, causing me to
have to reset its folder path and icon settings),
I will stick with it for the time being, because
even in free version it is fully operational, and
I already know my way around its configuration.

If Nexus's Dock were to be perfected, made a little
bit more like RD and got some simplification, I would
consider maybe paying $15... for the Dock.

i hate the way subdocks layout the icons in a single row.

Agreed. When you have as many individual shortcuts to programs in a
single stack docklet as I do, it's more like a towering skyscraper.

I prefer this nice little box of shortcuts.

Over this rather intimidating tower.

Simplification of the menu would also do wonders for navigation.

UoPoko again you know that first quote had nothing to do with you. the post above the one of mine that you quoted IS NOT YOURS. as far as rocket dock is concerned i really could care less, IT'S A DOCK not A DOCKING SYSTEM.

When you're agitated and confused and jumping to
conclusions trying to fill in the blanks, you will
believe anything. I didn't -know- that you were not
a mod, and simply put I was just lashing out.

And I said I was sorry, didn't I? Anyway, let's
move past that little misunderstanding and just
agree that we have similar wishes for improvement
in this app. I really don't want to fight, despite
whatever impression I may have given initially.

ChuckysChild wrote:

Of course it wasn't there to be above yours, because it was
-moved- without so much as a mod's note saying why and where,
so of course, reading your post and not understanding, I
jumped at the first person I 'thought' was addressing me
and made the assumption that it was their doing.
As I said "misunderstanding." Internet, it happens.

Uopoko, calm down man. I didn't bother leaving a message or a note, simply because I assumed you would see the moved post as a new, unread and highlighted, thread with your name as the thread starter and would understand.

About that...
Chucky's "misunderstood" post timestamp: Mon Apr 07, 2014 11:24 pm
... and your post that I moved, timestamp: Wed Apr 16, 2014 9:09 am
so... no, it still wouldn't have been there, above Chucky's, even if I hadn't moved it, simply because you made it 9 days after Chucky's, thank you very much.
Therefore, yours would have been *under* Chucky's, thereby making Chucky's post a reply to yours possible, only if you do not subscribe to a linear and unidirectional interpretation of time. In other words, Chucky would have to read your post and then go 9 days back in time to post his reply. Or have a vision of 9 days into the future. Both valid scenarios.
Now, can you please drop this? Your post is still there and answered!

Okay, then - so I saw his post there after you moved mine,
did not look at his time stamp and just lashed out. I accept
that much, that the way I reacted was a mistake. In the future
though, I'd appreciate some kind of tip off, rather than being
expected to just find it on my own. Most other places have
that kind of courtesy regarding the relocation of posts.

Again, I apologize and I do not wish to have a conflict.
I only wish to continue making suggestions...

sorry i just did my happy, happy, joy, joy dance(trust me you don't want to see it). i know a little late, but i was enjoying the peace and quiet.

now for what i actually came here for. it is actually 2 items.

the 1st 1 i asked about awhile back. check boxes for selecting multiple items on a shelf tab for moving or copying instead of having to do it item by item by righclicking. hp;ding the mouse button then dragging to the folder you want to copyto/moveto.

the 2nd 1 is more for windy. when you finally implement your version of a stacks folder is is possible to set it up to open all items in the folder with say a rightclick menu option?

last post addendum.

3. a fix for the rightclick copyto / moveto. and before someone says it it is not a windows problem. over the years i have tested out pretty much every program that either replaces explore or rides on top of explorer as a docking system, and winstep is the only one that has this problem.
