Post subject: How do I control the height of the NS Startbar?
PostPosted: Wed Nov 10, 2004 10:51 pm
I want to keep the Startbar - which is along the bottom of the screen - to a minimum height, but my favourite theme - pixOS makes it 3 icons high. How do I keep it down to one or 2 icons high, like some other themes are?

*sheepish grin*

Thanks for the compliment :)

I don't have a problem with resizing the 'start bar' by dragging it up or down. Right now it's just one icon high, but I just tried making it 2 and 3 icons high and then back to 1 again.

The NextSTART startbar will NOT shrink below a size in which one or more items (e.g. a WorkShelf module, or the Start button) will not fit.

The start button fits fine, and I have all the workshelf modules disabled, but I still can't get the bar the fex pixels smaller I need it to keep my web browsers status bar from overlapping it. It's a pain in the ass to have to resize my browser window or have to make an extra click on the bar to read the running task titles in the task bar. Any suggestions?

It can also be the size of your Quick Launch icons (QL Icon Size) - play with the settings, choose something other than Auto. Also remember that you can get the Startbar to reserve screen area when docked so maximized windows do not cover it - set the relevant option in the Docked Mode Options section. There is no reason for your browser window to cover it.
