Given that making a Proxy for playing MP3 is going to be a lot of work (and I will be REALLY pissed if that doesn't solve the problem lol) I feel really tempted to advise you to replace AVAST, but everything you've been describing so far seems related to the MP3 files, so chances are the culprit is a bad codec. This said, the alarms in the previous version also played MP3 files and that one didn't crash... And if you run v16.12 with Avast it doesn't crash either... so... I don't know. This is a tough one. On the other hand, making the Proxy won't hurt anything either (other than me wasting my time if that doesn't solve anything). |

No idea how they implemented their code. i put winstep program files folder, as wel as users/public/documents/winstep folder as exceptions in avast, glich (memory error?) happened, same when i disabled avast shields |

I use Avira for my antivirus needs, and I've been very happy with it. It was one of the highest rated free ones when I installed it. |

Just to confirm one more thing, since you seem able to make WorkShelf break so easily with the alarms: what if you temporarily set the alarms not to play ANY MP3 files? No issues? Just want to make sure it is indeed related to the MP3 files and not to the alarms themselves. |
