Probably because the problem is in one of the video codecs invoked by IExtractImage to generate the live folder thumbnails, and those are usually very system specific.

I should have a new beta fixing this and the file copy issue for you guys to play with right after New Year's.

Yes, can confirm this. As soon as the parent dock icon magnifies, the sub-dock jumps to the foreground with a short delay - some tenths of a second.

I did read Seeker`s post above. Actually after the 17.12 beta I did not have the crash problems, but I am quite sure it was related to Enable fast boot option, that is now deactivated. I have suspected that those crashes were related with that for a while now, but I was willing to take it as such, given the fact that the crashes happened only occasionally. That would be the reason I can not reliably test that now. I will leave that setting off for another week, then I`ll set it back to on and then see what will happen.

Yeah, seems to be. Just made another quick test with some non-video folders. I've dragged 10 at once to the Shelf to prevent too fast thumbnail creation, and I couldn't crash it with tab switching. winstep wrote: Anyway, going to open a new topic: 'What's next after v17.12?', eheh. Yes, Jorge thanks a lot for your perseverance. I, toniostarcevic and everyone else is greatly appreciative of the continual advancements of your creation and the speed in which you correct bugs-even when they aren't your fault.

I have changed to fast startup for 2 weeks now and no more crashes.
