 This is not a huge deal, but it still bothers me a little (and with things like this, I just like to know how and why). All the other icons are showing up correctly, this is the only one where *something* is wrong. The doesn't appear to be another picture in the fallout.ico or in the fallout.exe (both have only one icon, and it's the same one). So my question is: why doesn't it display the correct icon (bonus question: where does the head come from)? |

LOOL!  The .ICO format supports multiple versions of the same image at different sizes and color depths (e.g.; 16x16 pixels at 16 colors, 48x48 at 256 colors, 48x48 True Color, etc...) in the same file. Windows automatically decides which of these 'different versions' to retrieve from the .ICO file based on requested size, system color depth, etc... In theory each of this different sized images within the same .ICO file should be smaller or larger versions of the same image, but it isn't necessarily so. Open that ICO file in an Icon Editor application such as Axialis IconWorkShop and you will see what I mean. Another possibility is that your system image list has become corrupt (but I doubt it). |

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I didn't know there where different sizes inside a single .ico file. Now it all makes sense. And yeah, I spend most of my days googeling and yet it never occurred to me to search for this problem... |
