Erm . . . what am I missing? I figured out how to get play and pause and whatnot, but where do I go to turn on this media bar? Will I be able to make a media workshelf tab?

Also, with regards to play/pause, something I have seen some media players do that I think is fairly intuitive is use the same button for play and pause. So, when media is playing, the button is a pause button, and when music is paused/stopped, the same button is a play button.

I added that AFTER the last beta.

It's a new media player internal command, you add it to docks, etc, just like you add any other internal command. It uses the same audio playlist as the alarms.

When you click on the IC's icon, the speaker with headphones, the media control bar pops up. Click anywhere else and it goes away.

Erm... no?

Yep, that's what happens here too.

Added 'Size' slider to the LCD tab in the Alarms Manager dialog. This allows you to fine tune the size of the LCD Alarms in windowed mode between 80% and 120% of normal size.

regarding the cpu issue i reported earlier, havent noticed same behaviour since, sometimes workshelf uses up to 2% while idle, but not constantly like before

still here is my task manager ordered by cpu time for reference:
http://prntscr.com/iyzbf8

Image

and here is system uptime
http://prntscr.com/iyze33

Image

so on 3 days of uptime, workshelf has 48 minutes of cpu usage, while
wsxservice has 23

though cant rember if i had restarted workshelf at any point.
if you would find the info relevant i could restart my sistem and then take care not to restart workshelf

Thanks Seeker! :)

Not bad at all, especially if you compare it with the other applications.

Anyway, heads up, working hard to release v18.3 today - currently neck deep writing the announcements in the News section of the Winstep web site.

Gah, boring, I positively hate this part.

v18.3 official release is out.

A few hours more and it would have to become v18.4 lol

Happy Easter, everybody! :D

I am using right now the new player. It is great. I think it is great that is using standard playlist files, that way it is easy to import collections made in winamp or other music player.
Thank you Jorge for this new addition. That is something that I find really useful.

Everything seems in order with the new media player icon gadget. Tested the functionality of keyboard media keys. Working with a playlist of 200+ files.

Just discovered the mouse scroll to control the volume of the icon player. Great little touch.
One idea: can you add a number on top of the control bar that will popup when you use the scroll wheel, as a visual indicator of volume change?

If you read above you'll know I wanted to add a volume indicator to the media control bar - however, the media player IC was added at the last minute just before the official release, so I ran out of time.

Next release I will polish some of the stuff added in v18.3 a bit more.

Happy easter and thanks for this huge update Jorge.

I've never used the alarm manager before, but now... I wish the clock desktop module looked just like this

Guilty of charge :D. I admit that lately I kind of skimed through the posts. Well, I for one, have no idea what else you can do to improve this further.
Again, thank you for the good work and all the functionality that you keep adding to the software. One of the main reasons I follow this thread, as much as time permits, is because I am curious what else you will come up with next.

Actually, it can. I added a new option to the Clock Settings panel related to what happens when you click on the clock module: you can display the Windows Calendar, or the Winstep Calendar, or now... a full screen LCD clock too. If you don't want it full screen, just double click it to show it in windowed form.
