Hello,

I'm trying to have Next start to only open from a Nexus dock icon, with all other of its elements hidden.

My main problem atm is that I have hidden all Next start bars / buttons from the desktop and now I cannot find how to open the settings panel.

Also creating a Next Start button on Nexus and clicking on it does nothing.

Help would be appreciated, as the only option I can think is to reset the programs, but that would make me loose all work I have done setting it up...

Got yourself into a pickle, eh?

You should be able to access NextSTART Preferences from the NextSTART icon in the system tray or, if you removed that, by pressing CTRL+F12 (unless you changed that key combination too, but you haven't, right? ).

Once you're in NextSTART Preferences, the first thing you should do is go to the Advanced tab and click on the Backup button to make a backup of your current settings. Do the same in WorkShelf Preferences - this way, if something goes wrong and you don't know how to undo your changes, you can always restore your settings later.

Now, I assume you want to access a NextSTART *menu* from the dock, right? For that, you must create a new item on the dock by right clicking where you want the item to be then: Insert New Dock Item -> NextSTART Hotspot -> <Hotspot>

This will create an item on the dock which will execute whatever action is associated to that hotspot in NextSTART, provided, of course, that NextSTART is currently running.

If you want to open the main NextSTART menu, you should select 'Hotspot 0' above, since hotspot 0 is associated to the main NextSTART menu *by default* (unless you also changed that, in which case you need to check your hotspot settings in the Hotspots tab of NextSTART Preferences).

If you want to access a custom made menu in NextSTART, then you must first associate the custom made menu to a hotspot in NextSTART and then run that hotspot from Nexus using the method described above.

Cheers!!!

I already had the icon on nexus, but since I had the "00-Nextstart" disable on settings (to hide the desktop icon...) it did nothing.

Now I've set it to activate from menu to keep it enable and hidden and it works like a charm.

Thank you for your very fast help :D
