Hello,

After setting up the desktop module, every time I check for emails it counts the number of total mail in the inbox folder.

Is there a way to make it count the unread messages, instead of the total?

P.S. Using yahoo mail (POP3)

When using POP3, the Email Checker module returns the number of messages STILL on the server. The POP3 protocol, unlike IMAP, moves messages from the server into the Email Client and then deletes them from the server. So, when the messages are downloaded into your Email Client, the number of pending messages on the server goes back to zero.

IMAP works a bit different, since the messages are ALWAYS on the server. In this case the Email Checker returns the number of UNREAD messages on the server.

Changed to imap, but now the module returns "a" (last line on the tooltip), and is not showing the unread messages (I have left 1 unread to check).

pass/username/other settings are double checked, also a gmail account shows normally with imap.

Tried to delete / recreate the yahoo account with no success.

Seems like it may be a yahoo problem, will keep testing but I do not understand what the "a" that is reported means.
