EDIT: Thank you Admin.

I added a 'Bring forward when activated' setting to the Position tab of the Dock Properties panel. To avoid confusing users, that option will not be visible until you select 'Always below other windows' in the combo box at the bottom.

ACTUALLY, I need you to try something and let me know the results ASAP:

1. Go to the Position tab of the Dock Properties dialog and set the dock z-order to 'Same as other windows'

2. Go to the Behavior tab, click 'Activation Settings' and DISABLE 'Bring dock forward when the mouse pointer bumps screen edge'

3. Go back to the Position tab and set the dock z-order back to 'Always below other windows'.

Press Ok and give it a try now. I really need to know the results ASAP please.

Do I have to install a new update?

Wait. It should have. Do you mean the dock STILL comes above the maximized window when you bump the screen edge or something else?

What is the 'Grab focus when activated' setting set to in

Dock Properties -> Behavior tab -> Activation Settings ?

If disabled, please enable it and try again.

No. The dock should not be seen when a window is maximized. If a window is maximized, the dock should never appear. Only on the desktop. On the desktop you should be able to activate it with the mouse. Please be afraid of my video.

00:03 - 00:07 That's right. The dock should only be activated in the desktop.

00:10 - 00:17 That should not happen. A maximized window is on and the dock is coming anyway.

00:27 - 00:57 My Settings

Thanks for the video (not sure why I should be afraid of it though  ).

At 0:45, top right corner of the Activation Settings dialog, there is a 'Grab Focus when Activated' setting which is currently DISABLED.

ENABLE that option and try again, please.

It works. I thank you with all my heart. Have I overlooked this option all the time? Oo I am very sorry.

Not your fault. I just wanted to make sure it worked.

That setting was added in v18.5 and due to MY OWN oversight, disabling it meant that the dock would ALWAYS be brought to the foreground regardless of what the 'Bring dock forward when the mouse pointer bumps screen edge' setting was set to.

Furthermore, due to ANOTHER oversight, the 'Bring dock forward when the mouse pointer bumps screen edge' setting became grayed out if the dock was set to 'Always on Bottom', which prevented you from disabling the option AFTER setting the dock to 'Always on Bottom'.

Both issues have been fixed for next release. I now also made the 'Bring dock forward when the mouse pointer bumps screen edge' setting appear in the Position tab of the Dock Properties panel when the dock is set to 'Always On Bottom', so it can be controlled directly from there.
