Hi, I’m new here.

I’ve got nexus xtreme and I have a few questions.

1, i have folders set to show a menu instead of opening in explorer, is it possible to mouse over a folder in a menu to automatically go into that subfolder?

2, nextstart, can I change the layout and appearance of the taskbar?

3, is it possible for the shelf to open folders and display the contents of that folder within the shelf itself?

4, does the backup feature include all settings and items in the dock and shelf etc?

1. Rapidly *triple click* the folder item in the menu (click, click, click). That will make the folder open in an Explorer window.

2. NextSTART Preferences -> Taskbar tab -> Taskbar Settings -> Taskbar Sections

Plenty of stuff to play with in the Taskbar tab of NextSTART Preferences.

3. No.

4. Yes, but keep in mind that the backup button in WorkShelf Preferences is for WorkShelf *ONLY* (Shelf, docks, desktop modules, etc).

NextSTART is a separate component, so you will need to separately backup NextSTART settings as well (menus, taskbar, hotspots, etc).

thanks for the advice but I think number 1 was misunderstood. On the dock, I have folders to open as menus instead of explorer(was an option in the preferences). It does open the folder as a menu, however I want to navigate that folder using mouse over only. Say I have a folder called “Mikes folder” I have just opened:

AutoHotKey Scripts >
Scripts >
File.txt

If I mouse over the Scripts > folder it will open another menu with the contents of the Scripts folder.

On nexus ultimate, this was possible but the option doesn’t appear to be there for xtreme ;(

NextSTART Preferences -> Menus tab -> Auto Drop Down: enable 'Open sub-menus on mouseover'

This will affect the sub-menus in WorkShelf too.

No, you still need to click on the folder icon in the dock.
