If you want to. :)

Cant replicate the recent item's freeze.

Nobody can. As I suspected, it's probably because one of the recent items is in a slow network connection or in some storage location that is no longer connected.

Clearing his Recent Documents list will solve the problem, and even the thumbnail extraction update above could help.

Jorge, assuming I'm your AWOL person, this fix works fine on my system. Each shelf remembers its monitor setting.

Cool! And no, you are not my AWOL person, it's the user who posted THIS THREAD and then never came back again.

What doesn't work: NextStart only remembers monitor 1 Reserve Space settings. Is this fixable?

I'll see what I can do.

Funny. That's a pure cut and paste of MY THREAD!

Holy macaroons, so it is!

Well that explains it then. I've banned the user, most likely some kind of spam bot.

As to how your thread - which is the original - went completely unnoticed by me is a mystery! Anyway, the new monitor profiles solved the issue, at least for WorkShelf?

Forgot to mention that some of the files that were in the Explorer Recent items folder still show up in the Recent items Windows (via bottom left corner) context menu and the Recent Shelf tab.

I installed the new beta that you posted in regards to sacco_belmonte. It does feel faster.

BTW, within a week or so, I'll be adding a TV to my PC, so another thing I might be testing out is the dual monitor stuff. Pray for me!

Jorge, what about the other two things I asked you about? You didn't address that.

Because of the change to the Shelf, even on a single tab Shelf, (which is docked on the right side) the tab won’t stay at the single tab size and open to whatever amount of folders/icons are in the Shelf.

What do you mean? Are we talking about a single tabbed Shelf or a Drawer?

Single tabbed Shelf-Tab type: Folder

Bottom line is: no, it was Microsoft's decision to add removable drives to the root of the shell namespace and therefore there is no way to remove them from the Desktop tab in Windows 10 (other than by editing the Windows Registry by following the article I linked to, but you do that at your own peril since I didn't try it to see if it works).

I thought that you would be able to do something to block external hard drives appearing in the Shelf since they don't appear on the Desktop and you should be the one who says what should be displayed in your program, not Windows! Within reason of course. EDIT TO THE PREVIOUS. It's not impossible for you to block is it?

If you're still running v18.10, I already explained how to on the other Giant Menus thread, as I promised I would. :)

But anyway: you open Preferences, go to the Advanced tab, enable 'Notify me of beta (test) versions' and then click the 'Check for Updates' button.

Please don't forget to let me know if that fixed the giant menus issue.

Thanks Jorge. Sorry, I didn't go to the giant menu thread this morning so missed the instructions.

This has done the trick...back to regular size menus. :D

5) Each time I update Workshelf the "NEXTstart app" also loads, even if I don't use it at all and "start with windows" is also disabled.

Yeah, known issue. :)

Applied the beta in the prescribed way, maid a GS of my videos folder(all *.mp4's) and it maid icons, and short work of labeling them to.
Fast to.

Well, yeah, I also got a really bad case of the flu that put me out for a handful of days - that didn't help either lol
