Can you please post a screenshot of the Item Properties dialog for that item?

Also, are you SURE that is the right path for that file?

Thanks for the screenshot and the reply.

Unfortunately, because you're using a separate icon file, I can't determine if the file path is correct or not, so I ask again: are you SURE that mc-wol.exe is inside

C:\Program Files\

?

Also, what happens if you create a different folder in the root of the C:\ drive (say, C:\mcwol\ ), copy or move mc-wol.exe into that folder, and edit the dock item so it now points to C:\mcwol\mc-wol.exe instead?

Thanks. Only insisted so much because it's not common to put files at the root of C:\Program Files\

Since the file exists at the appropriate location and that location is C:\Program Files\, it might also be a 32 bit vs. 64 bit re-direction problem.

Out of curiosity, does a copy of that file also exist in C:\Program Files (x86)\ ?

Just as a side note, years ago I started creating a "Programs" folder inside my profile folder:

C:\Users\Ric\Programs

(Well, once upon a time it was C:\Documents and Settings\Ric\Programs, of course.)

I use it for any program that isn't installed via an installer. I create subfolders for each program to keep my Programs folder neat and tidy.

Feel free to implement this tip on your own system. The advantage to putting it under your profile is that this folder will usually be backed up by most "profile-oriented" backup procedures.
