Hi Jorge!
If I create a link on my desktop and then drag it onto the dock it doesn't work....

Pic-1 is the properities of teh Bitdefender link on desktop. Pic-2 is after dragging it onto the dock...

Pic-3 The message I get...in Swedish but says "Unable to access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the right permission to access the object."

Thanks for the screenshots!

Those screenshots rang a bell, so I searched Winstep support for "BitDefender" and came up with an email from another user complaining about the same thing.

We even tried making Nexus launch the shortcut instead of BitDefender directly (which makes Nexus simply tell Windows 'here, launch this shortcut!' and Windows will do the actual work of launching the shortcut) and not even that worked.

So I think this is an issue with BitDefender itself, sorry.

Hi Jorge!
OK! Not writing this to offend.....I have objectdock still active and with 64 bit programs I needed to create links on the C: drive but it didn't matter how I added the program to the dock it worked....

I just wished I knew why?

This is not an issue launching 64 bit applications from the dock.

Check it out by making a shortcut in the dock to ANY OTHER 64 bit application and then launching it - it will launch the 64 bit application without any issues.

This is a problem SPECIFIC to *BitDefender*. I don't know why either, that would be a question better directed at them.

Hi Jorge!
I sent a email to their support and development yesterday....I would imagine some security feature is causing the problem...
I have had to train Bitdefender to allow all the functions in Nexus....I will keep you posted....

Hi Jorge!
I have had this response from Bitdefender....

Thank you for your patience throughout this entire process and please accept my apologies for the frustration that we might have caused.

I have looked into the case and it seems that the situation has been acknowledged by our development team. We are currently working on a fix which will be done by means of automatic update and won't require any additional action on your end.

We will get back to you with an update regarding the fix as soon as we have one.

Thank you once again and have a nice day ahead!

I will let you know IF they actually fix this.....

I tried to show in italics but that didn't work?

Alas, a part that was left incomplete when the phpBB forum was customized to match the look of the rest of the site.

Hi Jorge!
Well, it was a very week response.....

Thank you for contacting us.

I have reviewed your request, and it appears that, due to a self protecting mechanism of our security solution, you will not be able to add a shortcut to it in Nexus Docs.

I apologize for any inconveniences this situation might create, and thank you for understanding.

Have a nice day!

Think it is a bit of copout...but there you go... :D

At least they admitted it was their fault. I'm actually a bit surprised they went as far. :)

So the fault is on their side, I thought it was only me having issue but the annoying ads are way too much so I use this bitdefender vs avast comparison and finally switched to avast

Guys... Eset. You simply can't go wrong with Eset.

Seems pretty good. Had ESET since had the laptop earlier this year and think I'll have to pay up when the free sub runs out next year. Virus scan can be annoying at times as it tends to come up with lots of false positives. Too frequent updates can be irritating, but then you get paranoid when you go online and nothing happens. ;)

Over all though, yeah, can't go wrong with ESET - every IT pro I know swears by it rather than at it. ;)

Hi guys!
We could discuss antivirus solutions all day and it there is so much said and tested by different people....
BUT...Avast is just too intrusive and slows most computers....have sevaral customers that have used the free one and click this and click on that and then the computer stops working...
Eset is a really sound product but has become too expensive....and doesn't come up top of the list very often....
Bitdefender for all one can say about it is a good and sound security solution and is up at the top year in and year out....

I will leave it at that because it depends on how you look at things....
