The weather module icon now has a label N/A. Is it possible to change that?

Looks like your weather location is using a METAR code. Unfortunately NOOA's website just started to enforce HTTPS connections instead of HTTP (and I only found out about this a few hours ago too).

As such, the connection to the NOOA server fails, but does so in such a way that it does not trigger the fail safe mechanism designed to automatically retrieve current weather conditions from another weather provider such as Weather.com.

This has already been fixed for the next release.

To solve the problem until then, you will have to right click the weather module, select Weather Module Settings and clear (blank) the METAR code box. Assuming the location also has a Weather.com code (it should), you will then start receiving both current and forecast weather conditions from Weather.com.

Jorge, is the METAR information more accurate or more complete than the Weather.com information? What would influence me to use one over the other?

METAR information is weather information reported by *airports* around the world describing the *current* weather conditions in and around that airport. It is more detailed, updated more often and possibly more accurate.

This is why METAR info is ALWAYS used for current conditions - and Weather.com for the forecast - if a location has *both* a METAR and a Weather.com code.

METAR info, on the other hand, ONLY describes current weather conditions. It does not do weather forecasts. :)

My location only has a Weather.com code, so I didn't notice until a user emailed me with the problem yesterday. Once I was aware of the issue, I could fix it.

Perfect example of why you should always report bugs/issues and not assume the developer already knows about them. :)

Hi Just so you know -:- I've only literally found out how to do this 2 min ago.
You need to add, if possible more space for the location on the weather module.

I live in Cunningsburgh / Shetland I put in the "/ Shetland" just to get the right location"It seems to work very small town". The module displays "Cunningsbugh / Shetlan" Can we have more characters plz in length?

Would settle for just Cunningsburgh as a work around.

The Winstep application poses no restrictions on the length of the location name.

What does pose a restriction is the desktop module so the text does not over-run other text or the module itself, and that depends on the theme and the theme author. You can see this for yourself by using another theme.

Also, the location name itself has ZERO influence on the *actual* weather retrieval location, it's just there for the benefit of us humans: what really matters are the associated weather codes. You can type anything you want into the location name and it has no influence, so simply shorten the name in the Weather settings panel.
