Thanks for the feedback. :)

It's like one of those no-brainer features that should have been there since the beginning but never actually was...

LOL! Thanks - but what Mexican beers? Never touch lager beers, only ales and stout. :) First day up and about again since my last post - worst and longest man flu I've ever had I think.

Oh boy. Ever heard of Corona beer? And what about the Corona virus (now renamed to COVID-19) ?

Anyway, glad you are feeling better. We just got the first cases here in Portugal.

Nope, sorry, never heard of Corona beer Jorge... :|

319 cases officially here, with 4 stiffs. Feckin' idiot people are panic buying/hoarding everything in sight so very little to be found to buy! Should be shot on sight. :P Some supermarkets now allow only one of buys of many products so hope the madam will be able to get me at least one pastel de nata some time soon! Getting withdrawal symptoms already. ;)

Won't be able to download anything till about early April as can't renew until then, so sorry, can't test moving docks etc.

Okay, so I will admit that it's possible my system is just in need of a reboot, but in addition to the nice little sound it makes when you drag to or from and edge, it would be nice if it changed shape as a "preview" of what it's going to do. I've seen other things do this when dragged to an edge, and I think it's a nice touch.

No can do, sorry. :)

Too much work for a 'nice touch' and I sincerely think it's already good enough as it is.

I'm confused. You want it to change shape and you want that changed shape to preview what's going to happen? If it's going to be a preview, why would you change its shape?

Doesn't sound like something that makes any sense at all?

Oh, when checking for updates - i.e., for the 20.3 beta - I'm informed that everything's up to date, on 20.1! Any way of downloading the beta directly Jorge?

I know this sounds silly for an experienced user like you, Ric, but in Preferences --> Advanced, is the "Notify me of beta (test) versions" checked?

I ask because the notification worked for me, and I'm sure it worked for others or they would have asked the same question.

Yep, 'Notify Beta versions is checked', of course.

Very strange behaviour indeed. I did get the automatic notification for the beta the day before that, but now when I manually check for updates I get the 'all up to date notification' even though I'm still on 20.1! Downright weird.

No manual download link, Jorge? (BTW, did you get my new email addy?)

Can you already dock/undock a dock by dragging it, Ric (remember to unlock it first) ?

And yes, I got your email, haven't had the time to reply yet though, sorry.

Likewise for your PM, other Ric. ;)

Nope, no can do, dragging a dock.

No problem re email reply, Jorge, was just wondering if it got there ok as it was the first time I emailed you from there. It happened once that somebody, first time I emailed them, didn't get the pw.

As for "other Ric" - how about we make it 'DD Ric and 'n Ric'? ;)

Keep well and keep safe, everybody.

Ah, I think I know what happened, Ric.

Because you could not update at the time, you set the Update Manager not to remind you again about that particular beta version ("Hide this update" option). And so it doesn't. lol

Open the Windows Registry Editor and navigate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WinSTEP2000\Shared

Look for an entry that says 'NextSTART (Beta)' and/or 'WorkShelf (Beta)' and delete the entries (not just the values). Then try checking for updates again.

Yep. that's done the trick, thanks Jorge. Must have ticked that by accident, I think. However, I think it should not stop manually checking for updates, ideally.
