I bought Nexus Ultimate some time ago but have only recently begun using it. In experimenting with grid stacks in a dock I noted that a mouse over of the relevant icon opened the stack. However later on after introducing new grid stacks I had to click on it to get it to open. Is there a setting somewhere that I can't now find that enables the mouseover that I observed before?

Any help would be appreciated, Regards, Jeff

Grid Stacks (and sub-docks) will open automatically on mouseover if the global 'Open sub-docks on mouseover' setting is enabled (located in Dock/Shelf Properties -> Behavior tab -> Sub-Docks button).

There is currently an exception to this, however, and that is when you have a Grid Stack showing the contents of a folder and the Grid Stack is set to automatically open the folders in that folder also as Grid Stacks (as these are only temporary, created-on-the-fly, Grid Stacks).

Is this what you mean?

Anyway, I changed the code here for the next release so that even those temporary folder Grid Stacks will open automatically on mouseover if the 'Open sub-docks on mouseover' setting is enabled.

Yes thank you Jorge. Your advice re the "open sub-docks on mouseover" worked. I just had trouble finding it. Regards, Jeff

Well, yeah, the name and location of that setting made sense when there were no Grid Stacks (which are a recent new feature) and only sub-docks existed to open on mouseover, but now...

I'm yet to have a bit more of a fiddle with it and massage it to want I want. But I can see that it will work.

Another question, can I have labels on a dock which sit below the icon without having to point at the icon with the mouse?

Now that would not be a dock, would it?

Docks by definition do not have icon labels.

For that you should use either a Shelf or a Drawer, which have other advantages as well (although they do not support the icon magnifying mouseover effect, but support nearly all the other effects).

Thanks. I used a drawer and was able to achieve what I wanted.
