Do I really have to upgrade to Windows 10? |

Hi Gregory, Of course, you don't have to upgrade to Windows 10. However, as this page notes, Microsoft will no longer be updating Windows 7 to fix security issues. If hackers find holes in Windows 7, and they usually do, Microsoft is unlikely to publish a fix that will fill that hole. This will leave you more vulnerable as time goes by. However, there are still people running Windows XP. As time goes by, they are able to update fewer and fewer of their favorite programs because those developers are not continuing to support Windows XP as they update their software. WinStep is a one-man operation. It becomes more difficult for one man to keep his programs working on more and more versions of Windows. Sooner or later, Jorge will decide to drop support for Windows 7 because it will just be too much of a hassle. |
