They show up under icons, but not under all of them. |

They show up when they are in use. |

Go to Dock Properties, Content tab, top left checkbox is: show running applications in this dock. Untick it to turn them off. Under the Appearance tab there is a Running Indicator section (bottom left). You can tune the look to something you prefer there. |
