I've noticed that no matter what (ie. even when the program is closed) the Google Chrome and Windows Explorer icons in my dock always have the little light/dot under them as if they are open. Is this a glitch or am I missing something? Thanks for your help!

Are you an alter ego of Ryuk trying to drive a point across? lol Explorer.exe is always running on the background on a Windows system since it's the shell. Never-the-less I already added code for next release so that any icon in the dock pointing to explorer.exe will only show a running indicator if an explorer window is currently open. As for the running indicator under Chrome, that can only mean that Chrome.exe is currently running, either in the background or as a Chrome App. Open the Windows Task Manager in the Details tab and see for yourself.

hahah no, but im guessing this ryuk fellow has had the same concern i sort of suspected as much about windows explorer, but im a bit surprised about chrome guess google really is spying on me 24/7 those bastards anyway ill quit chrome and close it in task manager and see if the little dot is still there |

Yeah - looks like Chrome is running all kinds of background processes even after I close the app Stupid google chrome anyway, thanks again for your help! |

thanks again i love this program so much - as you may have guessed from the screenshot it allows me to live in denial and make belief i am still running MacOS as I get re-accustomed to windows after not using the OS for more than 10 years |

You should be able to completely close down Chrome automatically when you close the last active window. Put this in an empty tab of Chrome. Code: chrome://settings/?search=background It brings up Chrome's Settings and searches for the word 'background'. The last background option (there were three results when I searched) under the System section at the bottom is the one you want.
