When I press Win + D or do anything to get me back to desktop without actually minimizing a window, the Nexus dock disappears and only appears if I press the Windows Key or go in and out of a window.

My dock is set to always be on the bottom and I am using Windows 10.

In your dock settings, on the Behavior tab, down at the bottom is a check box for "Keep this dock visible when pressing WIN+D (Show Desktop)". Is that check box checked? If not, please check in and then see what happens when you press WIN+D.

Thank you! When I enabled the option and tested using Win + D and dragging a file from a browser, the dock didn't disappear.

I actually have another question about the name tag on the applications in my dock. When I hover over an item in the dock the name appears but if I hold my mouse over it for about 3 seconds, a box appears showing all the properties of the item. I would like to know how to disable this.

In the Dock's settings, go to Behavior and then click More Options on the bottom right. The first option on the "Advanced Behavior Settings" window has to do with those tooltips. If you set it to Never, you won't be shown that additional information.
