So I have a really nitpicky issue, I want to achieve true transparency with my dock backgrounds but as you can see in the picture, they have some sort of effect and I don't quite understand why.

Any thoughts?



Yes, its very faint, but I can notice it, its tolerable but would like to know what can be done to remove it.

You can try lowering the brightness of your monitor just a tad.

Dock backgrounds cannot be 100% transparent, as that would make mouse clicks go through them to any windows underneath (imagine swiping across the dock and having the dock constantly magnify and de-magnify as the cursor goes through 'holes' in the icons and the space between icons). So, when you set a dock background to be 100% transparent, it is actually set to 1/255 opacity (alpha value of 1).

with most monitors/graphic cards/video drivers that is not visible at all.
