Something's seriously amiss with our solar system - apparently, we shan't see another New Moon until 2nd Jan. - and goodness knows what year! Well, that's according to the Moon module anyway. And weather module isn't any better behaved. The latter is positively obsolete as far as I can tell as it provides barely any info any more and certainly none that matches up to my locale.

Had occasion to boot up Win 10 and so decided to check on a few modules and the above is the result. Have removed the weather mod permanently now.

OK, so last New Moon was on January 2nd.... According to Moon module anyway.

And now the Weather module only shows two days ahead I see. Just enabled it briefly to see if anything changed. This is a dead horse. It's gone to meet its maker, dropped off its perch and all that. ;)

Moon module looks good to me.

Weather module has problems.

Two issues:
  1. Sunday: It's a little after 4:00 PM when I took this screenshot. Sunset is in almost 3 hours, so it's mid-afternoon. I suspect the moon should not be showing right now. :-)
  2. Thursday: Not loading. Is that the problem others have brought up?

I admit I don't use Winstep's modules much.

For weather, I use VClouds Weather 2 skin for Rainmeter. This is how it looks on my desktop:

Hi Ric,

Odd - my moon mod still is insistent that last new moon was Jan 2nd 23:00! Probably some glitch...

Don't really use the Winstep mods much - usually only have the Moon, Battery and sometimes clock - but check up on them from time to time. Might give that Rainmeter skin a try sometime - not obsessed with the weather though. Enough when I get it on the evening news (much more detailed than US ones, generally). Ages since I've seen good old Fahrenheit temperatures. :)

Got a Rainmeter anti-clockwise clock here. :)

The two problems with the Weather mod that you mention have been reported by others too. Also, no atmospheric pressure, wind direction or visibility. And in the early hours, I only see the first three days here. Apart from that, it's also totally out for my location. The MSN feed is crap. The mod really needs a complete re-write and I would suggest that Jorge should take a look at how weather bar applets are done under various Linux distros - the mint one is very good and is the same under Fedora. All using free feeds, of course.

Ah well, I suppose I should wish you a h(n)appy voting season Ric but it seems you're really caught between a rock and a hard place? ;)
