Well, I need more details...

Is that a brand new installation of Nexus? Does it happen on launch? Do you get to see the actual dock? What version is it? Did you download it from the Winstep web site? What happens when you press Retry? Etc...

The more details you can provide, the better, don't be lazy... :D :P

It's the latest version I downloaded from Winstep website. I ran the NexusSetup.exe file and installed it successfully, but couldn't open it and got this error. It does not show the actual dock and cannot retry.

Ok, since you downloaded it from the Winstep web site: what AV software are you running? You can try temporarily disabling it and then launching Nexus to see if that makes a difference.

Also, it is the first time you install Nexus on your system? You could try completely uninstalling it (settings included if it gets to ask it) and re-installing, to see if that makes a difference.

Nobody else seems to be complaining of crashes at startup so far.

I don't use any AV software, I have also disabled window defender. I have installed and used it before, completely in normal use until it automatically shut down cannot be reopened, and failed.

And did you try a complete uninstall already (from Apps & Features in the Windows Control Panel) ?

I uninstalled it completely in the control panel, but it still is.

Well, I don't know then, sorry. Probably some incompatibility with 3rd party software you might have installed on your system.

Some software (usually security software, but not only) injects DLLs into the process space of every application that runs on your computer, and this can sometimes cause problems with some applications but not others. It's not the fault of the host application though, as it never expected to have 'foreign' code injected into it.

Figuring out which program is causing the issue can usually only be done by trial and error (e.g.; prevent 3rd party applications from running at startup, one by one, to see if the issue still occurs, etc) and because what is happening there is system specific it's the kind of thing only you can do.
