How to get the time, sound, network etc. to be on the bottom right of the theme used instead of on the top left of the screen? I tried to attach a screen shot. Thanks for any assistance.

A screenshot would certainly help, as would information as to which programme and version you are using - Nexus Ultimate or Winstep Xtreme.

To attach screenshot use the "Upload Attachment" option or if image is uploaded on web use this:

Specifically, "Choose file", then "Add the file".

After you do that, you can then put it in the message by clicking "Place inline".

That makes things clear. :) OK, this is the System Tray (part of the NextSTART taskbar).

Hit <ctrl> F12 to bring up the NeXTSTART preferences panel, then go to the Taskbar tab and select "System Tray Settings" near the bottom left. Now tick the boxes for "Show the System Tray control button" and "Detach the system tray from the Nextstart taskbar, then press "OK" and "OK" again. Now left-click on the tasklist control button and you can drag it anywhere you like. :) (You can de-select the 'Show the system tray control button" option after you got the tray into the position you want.)

Hope that solves it for you. :)

Thanks for the information Mr. Moderator, however I cannot get to the preference window. When I do ctrl f12 nothing happens. And when I right click on the taskbar item for nextstart, the attach screen shot comes up. Thanks.

Mr. Moderator, I did all the steps you mentioned (was able to somehow able to get the preferences by right clicking on the icons at the top left of the screen)

Done "System Tray Settings" near the bottom left.
Done Now tick the boxes for "Show the System Tray control button"
Done "Detach the system tray from the Nextstart taskbar, then press "OK" and "OK"
Not Done Now left-click on the tasklist control button and you can drag it anywhere you like. :) (You can de-select the 'Show the system tray control button" option after you got the tray into the position you want.)
Where do I find the tasklist control button?

It's located at the right end of the system tray.

I haven't used that feature. I had to do some testing by unchecking the box, clicking OK and then Apply so I could see what disappeared. Then, turn it on again. For me, the clock gadget that's part of the system tray is what disappeared and reappeared.

While it's a floating system tray, I can left-click-drag on the clock to drag the floating system tray around.

To lock it in place, go back to the System Tray Settings and Lock System Tray.

If you hide the control button, you'll lose your clock.

Mr. Moderator, would you mind posting some screen shots as obviously what I am doing is not working. I have tried to follow along and while I am very technical, this has me baffled. TIA

Let's back up a moment. Where is your NextSTART startbar and taskbar? Are they already on the bottom?

If you don't mind, could you capture a screenshot of your entire desktop (you can close or minimize all of your windows if you're worried about sensitive information) and post it here?

DD, attached is the tesktop screen shots, top and bottom. In between is the empty theme that was too large to attach. Below the desktop icon is the nextart preferences. Thanks

OK, what you have here is, the system tray top left of screen, Nexus dock top centre, and then at the bottom, from the bottom up, the Taskbar, a Workshelf, and finally, the Start menu (horizontal). Nextstart preferences are nowhere open. It's all horribly small and so very hard to make things out.

Now, left-clicking on the time in the system tray, you should be able to drag it wherever you want provided you have the settings that have been described to you. However, you could actually accommodate the system tray in the taskbar on the right, which is its default position, by selecting the appropriate settings. A little experimentation (and reading up past posts and guides on the web site) won't hurt. :)

For anybody following along, to re-attach the SysTray back onto the Winstep startbar, you can right-click the time portion and choose "Attach System Tray to Startbar."
