Hi all. Is there any way to set Nexus or Win 10 to execute a "save as" that you can navigate to a dock, shelf or window?

Thanks!

If I understand you correctly, you want to save a file to a dock or shelf? Short answer to that is no - in general, a dock or shelf stores links only, not actual files. The exception to that are folder links, which give direct access to the files within it, but you still have to save to the actual folder, not to the dock or shelf.

Much the same applies to Win 10 and individual windows.

Hello and thank you. My "save as" default is, and has always been, the desktop. Nexus organizational tools and modules are "invisible" when Windows 10 navigates that dialogue box to the desktop.

So, that's what I am trying to find; some specific setting or trick to make those "invisible" items show up in a "save as" dialogue.

Thanks,

J.

Yeah, like I said, not possible.

BTW, saving files to the desktop is a fairly risky business. For one thing, if Explorer crashes badly and wipes it clean, you could lose the files, and for another, your privacy is even more at risk both from MS and hackers (should the latter get into your system).

I always recommend saving files on a separate drive or at least, partition, and preferably keeping them on an external USB disk or stick, keeping only files local that are immediately being worked on.
