Has anyone else had the dock display a black border (corona) around it? What I find is when the dock appears, it seems to pause then display a black border around it for several seconds, then it disappears. Any clue what it is or suggestions on how to make it stop? See the screenshot attached.

What theme are you using? Did you recently update Windows? It seems like it could be an issue with Windows Explorer.

What happens if you System Restore?

That sounds like the application became either too busy or unresponsive for too long.

If Windows thinks the Winstep application has hung, it will put that black border around alpha blended windows.

So, the solution is figuring out what is causing the dock to "pause"

It sounds like a lose/lose situation. I can do nothing in either case, if it's busy or unresponsive.

Start by making a backup of your settings (WorkShelf Preferences-> Advanced tab -> Backup).

Now is the time consuming part: you will have to delete items from the dock one by one until you figure out which item (or items) is causing the delay.

Is one of the shortcuts in the dock pointing to a file in a network drive, for instance?

Hmm. Big black border isn't that ugly after all. I've got 58 items on my dock. It doesn't happen regularly enough to clearly say that just because it didn't fail now doesn't mean it won't fail later. I've played with the performance settings to try to improve the situation (See attachment). No joy.
