A few weeks ago my dock started crashing. I have reinstalled the software but I am still having the issue. Nexus is set as an exception in Avast as well.

That is not enough information to get to any conclusion.

At which point does the dock crash?
Is it random? Is there a pattern? Can it be reproduced?
What did you install around the same time the dock started crashing?
What are you running, Windows 10 or 11?
Etc etc plus anything else you can think of

I am running Windows 10 Pro with Dock 19.2. It appears to be crashing at random times. The dock has been installed for a couple of years but has only started experiencing the problem in the last month.

The only thing installed recently was Windows updates and updates for Discord.

I have tried removing that weather code from the registry too as suggested by the other forum post but it didn't help.

Random crashes are EXTREMELY difficult to diagnose. Many times those are caused by buggy 3rd party software that likes to inject their dirty code :P into other people's processes, so when THEIR code goes belly up it is YOUR process that crashes (and therefore takes the blame).

Are you using anything by Acronis, for instance? I think that weather code crashing issue that only happened to some users was caused by their buggy "Active Protection" thingy (wonder why a backup company felt the need to meddle into AV territory, something it has no experience of, and it shows).

Try to find a pattern (or patterns). Does it only crash when you are using it or also when you are not using it? What are you doing when it crashes? Note down the time too if possible, to try to figure out if a scheduled function might be behind the crashes.

I have no software by Acronis running. The application crashes at various times of the day. It happens both if am using the computer.

You can try checking the Windows Event Log (Event Viewer) -> Windows Logs -> Application and look for errors related to the Winstep application, see if they all say the same thing (and what they say).

There might be a clue in there.

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Winstep\WorkShelf.exe
Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\System32\KERNELBASE.dll

Yeah, that doesn't shed any further light on it, sorry.

What is the error code?

Exception code: 0xc06d007e reported in Event Viewer but no error appears when Winstep crashes.

sfc reports no issues
chkdsk reports no issues
there are no other problems with the machine.

How to get rid of Unknown Software Exception error 0xc06d007e?

No idea if the above is helpful or not, but probably worth a read. If I had to bet, I would bet on Antivirus interference.
