You need to provide more details, please. Are you installing the beta via the Winstep Update Manager? Are you running Winstep Xtreme or Nexus Ultimate? At what point do you get that message? Are you running an insider version of Windows 11? Also, anyone else who is also running Windows 11, please chime in whether you experienced this or not. |

From the little information available on the web about similar errors, I suspect this might have something to do with the new version of the installer (InnoSetup) and the setup.exe file being marked automatically by Windows (don't see how it could have been done any other way) to run in compatibility mode for Windows 7. Let's try installing the beta update manually to see what happens: 1. Download the Winstep Xtreme beta update from HERE. 2. Exit all running Winstep applications. 3. Unzip the file and extract setup.exe 4. Run setup.exe Please let me know if you get the same error or if the update installed successfully. VERY IMPORTANT: I need feedback from OTHER users running Windows 11. I need them to post here if this DID NOT happen to them. Need to know if this is an issue specific to this user or something more widespread. |

Ok, just got some feedback from a user running Winstep Xtreme on Windows 11. The Winstep Update Manager installed the beta on his system without any issues. So this doesn't seem like a widespread Windows 11 problem but rather something specific to your system. This said, if it happened to you it can happen to others. It would still be useful to figure out what happened there rather than just try 'fixing it' after the fact. |

Looks like there was an issue with the latest version (6.x) of InnoSetup (the setup application for Winstep apps) where it could pop up a 'Requires Windows service pack 1 or later' message and abort installation. Although I cannot confirm this, from what I read it seems this only happened when trying to install on a Windows 7 system OR (and this is the really bad part) on a system running a LATER version of Windows but which was upgraded all the way from Windows 7 instead of a clean install (e.g.; you go to Windows 10 by upgrading from Windows 7, then to Windows 11 by upgrading from Windows 10). Due to this - and also because version 6.x of Innosetup is no longer compatible with Windows XP - I have downgraded the installer back to version 5.x for future releases. Nothing lost, really. |

Successfully installed on Windows 11 build 22000.652 with Winstep Xtreme. Installed without issue. |

Thanks, Jim! Issue has already been solved, it had to do with a new version of InnoInstaller. Reverting to the previous version fixed the problem. |
