I have configured a 'Recent Documents' doc on my left screen. Is there a way to search those documents?

You mean a Shelf or a Drawer, not a dock. :D

Anyway, with the Drawer or tab in a Shelf open, just start typing the name of the document. Literally. A Search Box should appear and the contents of the Drawer/Shelf will reflect any matches.

To close the search box simply press ESC.
