There have been quite a few incidences of old topics being resurrected from the dead, alas.

If a topic has a last reply six months old or more, then please, just link to that topic if you think it's relevant to your issue, from a new post in a new topic of your own! Resuscitating old topics makes the forum pretty messy!

It depends, Ric... if the old topic has useful information about stuff already discussed (which I would not remember about again in a million years) it can actually be a good thing.

A link to the old topic in the new one, with a comment why it's relevant, surely fulfils the same function, and means I don't necessarily have to look through a lot of old to very old posts when doing a search.
