Hello, I have a question reference the "Docking to screen edge" function. I have two PC's, with the same setup configurations for the Winstep Workshelf. This is for the UPPER SHELF setup. On one PC, the collapsed workself on top of screen is right next to monitor edge, BUT, with the same setup, my 2nd PC UPPER SHELF sits approximately 1/4 inch or so "Below" the monitor top edge. I have double checked the upper shelf configurations and they are they same for both PC's.

I was wondering what I can do or check on, to align PC #2 upper workshelf along the edge of the top of the monitor, like my other PC?

Open the *Shelf Properties* dialog for the shelf away from the screen edge (right click the left mini-tab -> Shelf Properties), go to the Position tab, click the Advanced button and make sure in the Advanced Position Settings dialog that the gap is set to 0 pixels.

Otherwise, are you running Nexus Ultimate or Winstep Xtreme? If the latter, it is also possible you might have reserved some screen space in the General tab of NextSTART Preferences.

Thank you for the assistance. I do have the Winstep Xtreme version. I check the "Advanced Position Setting" as you stated, and it is set at "0 Pixels" for both PC's. I then checked the 2nd setting that you mentioned, "General Tab in Nextstart preferences". All 4 settings are set to "0 Pixels" also. What I did try also, is setting the "Advanced Position Setting" to a negative number of pixels, to see if the setting at the top of the screen changed, but no it did not. It still stays put at approximately 1/4 inch below the top of screen.

What happens if in the Position tab of the Shelf Properties dialog for the Shelf sitting away from the screen edge you disable the 'Respect space reserved by other docks, toolbars and screen objects' setting ?

Thank you again for the help... This is what I found....When I disable what you stated, 'Respect space reserved by other docks, toolbars and screen objects', nothing changes (even with a PC reboot).

What is strange is the following, I disabled the "dock to screen edge", the "position in which orientation" changes to "Horizontal" and the shelf automatically attaches to the "bottom" of the screen correctly WITHOUT any (GAP) or space like when attached to the TOP of the screen.

I also noticed that if I go to the BEHAVIOR tap for the Shelf Properties and uncheck "prevent shelf from being moved by dragging with the mouse pointer", I can adjust the shelf BUT I cannot adjust it closer to the screen edge.

Thanks again.

Perhaps a screenshot of the two desktops with the different docks might help. It might also be related to which skin you are using, if the 'Do not flip background for docks at the top of the screen' setting in the Appearance tab of the Dock Properties dialog is enabled for one dock but not the other, etc

Thanks again, but both PC's are the same make, with the same Winstep settings for each, using DarkTech for each, etc. I could not find the following you stated "If the, Do not flip background for docks at the top of the screen' setting in the Appearance tab of the Dock Properties, dialog is enabled for one dock but not the other,"

I can live with the short distance shown. Thank again.

Apologies, the setting I mentioned is indeed related to docks but not the Shelf.

It seems to me that you might have the Shelf base showing. Open the Shelf Properties dialog, go to the Appearance tab, click the More Options button. Is the Shelf base set to 0 pixels? If not, that might be your problem.

BINGO! You are a winner! That was it, the positioning needle was 1 digit to the right, which allowed this extra room above the shelf. I really appreciate all the effort you gave into solving this for me. Have a great day and stay safe. Bruce :D
