Hello,

I am using Nexus Ultimate v22.7 on Win10. Is there any way to place more than one row of icons on a single horizontal dock, or to place more than one column of icons on a vertical dock?

To simulate this I currently have two horizontal docks, one above the other, just above the task bar on the bottom of the screen. If I could somehow lock these two docks together so they would move as one, that would be a satisfactory work around.

Thank you

Short answer to both - nope.

As Nexter said, that functionality does not exist for docks - as they would no longer be classical docks if it did.

However, what you are asking for is available via shelves (tabbed docks), in those you can already specify how many icon rows to display when open.

Thanks,
I didn't realize I needed to pull the top edge of the shelf up to see the additional rows :-)

A thought just occurred to me as I thought back to Nextstep/Openstep (the original inspiration for the Winstep suite, for those not aware of this). In NS/OS the tasklist - part of the dock here but displayed in a separate row at the bottom of the screen, which eventually of course was to become the Windows Taskbar - would expand to additional rows when required. So not entirely alien to the dock concept/metaphor. However, I really can't see the point of having a dock as such expand to multiple rows or columns. Far more appropriate and natural feels the Ubuntu dock solution - having the dock scrolling on mouse-over when icons go off-screen, which can happen all too easily as the Ubuntu dock also functions as a tasklist for apps that are not otherwise part of the dock.

Multiple rows or columns may perhaps be more appropriate to the Taskbar, although the tasklist part does of course expand to additional rows when necessary.
