I have a little bug with NextStart, I don't know if it's already known or not.
I'm using it with Windows 11, and I connect often on my windows 11 with remote desktop.
When I'm connecting, no problem NextStart is down on the screen. After if I try to connect with remote desktop from an other computer with smaller screen, it'ss ok.
I come back to my computer, connect and the taskbar is in the "middle" of the screen" and no more down.

Do you know this "bug"?
do you have a solution?

If you open NextSTART Preferences and press 'Ok', does the NextSTART taskbar return to the original position?

Also, are you running the latest beta (v23.7) ?

Also, if not, then what version of Xtreme and what version of Win 11?

no i must put the position down to have it back.
I have the latest version (I bought xtreme a few month ago) 22.7
And for windows 22H2

And sorry I made a mistake in my bug:
When I connect with remote desktop (the definition of my screen is smaller), if I was already connected I don't see the taskbar, I mus first kill it (with taskmanager and start again.

So there is no adaptation when screen change with remote desktop (or after come back with direct connection)

Yes, NextSTART was never written with remote connections in mind, and if those don't signal the normal screen resolution changes then NextSTART will not react.

I see you already browsed the v23.7 beta topic, try installing that according to the instructions on that thread and then add a 'Reset Reserved Screen Space' internal command (IC) to a dock or somewhere that is still visible when you connect remotely. When the taskbar is found to be at the wrong screen position, running that IC should correct the issue.

It's not a bug, no, but that doesn't mean I won't eventually try to "fix" it.



Private Beta group is dead for now. Betas have been public for years, just follow the instructions on THIS POST to download and install the beta.

I tried your solution, I receive well a message box with ""Reserved screen areas have been reset" but nothing change the toolbar is still hidden (in reality too low on the screen)

isn't it possible to add in internal command a restart Nexstart? I saw you have shutdown winstep, ... but no restart.
It could be a workaround for me
