 Post subject: Problem registering Xtreme update

I just renewed my WinStep Xtreme and received my Xtreme.wskey. Although it has always worked in the past, this time when I double-clicked the key file, Win10 asked which program I wanted to use to open it.
I tried just putting the key file in the proper directory but that just changed Xtreme to 30 day trial mode.
What do I do to fix this problem?

PS I've used this program for about 10 years and found it to be a great help.

I suspect your file may have the wrong extension. It should be Xtreme.key. Either that, or you're using it from the wskey.xtreme archive perhaps?

You could also run a search of this forum, people are bound to have had these sort of problems before.

The Registration Email that I received had an attachment named Xtreme.wsxkey.
I went through the instructions for Troubleshooting Options/Restore File Associations,
Saved the license key file, and double-clicked it. This time I did not get the Win10 message but neither did Xtreme seem to get updated. I tried renaming it to Xtreme.key and double-clicked that but I am still in Trial Mode
