Hi there dear Winsteps,

I made a mistake and messed up my config, but my backup isn't working so now looking for a way to get a base/basic setup running is there a file that holds the base configs that are used when u did a new installation.

With best regards
Adrian

The Articles section of the forum is not the place to leave requests for help. I moved this topic to the General Discussion section.

Why aren't the backups you made working?

Is the mistake you made so serious you cannot recover?

Anyway, to get the basic configuration, open Preferences, go to the Advanced tab, then click the Troubleshooting Options button. In that dialog you will find options to reset your settings, reset your content, or reset everything (factory reset).

Indeed it is not! Why oh why do people just register for the Winstep forums and without so much as a by your leave straight away post about some problem or other they're having and then do it all wrong!? So annoyingly frustrating.
