Hi, I'm using three monitors, all the same make and model, and they're set up using Nvidia Surround. My normal Windows taskbar will appear only on the center monitor, but NextStart will span all three monitors.

It makes sense why it does this, but is there a way to constrain it's length to a single monitor width (1920 pixels) and thne place it only on my center screen?

With nVidia surround your 3 monitors will appear to Windows and applications as a single monitor with a huge screen resolution.

What you can try is undocking the NextSTART taskbar (NextSTART Preferences -> Taskbar tab -> Taskbar Settings button -> clear "Dock to screen edge") and this will now allow you to manually position and resize the taskbar at will (so you can resize it and drag it to the center monitor).

Once it is sized and positioned correctly, go to the same taskbar settings as above and enable 'Lock the taskbar and prevent if from being dragged'.

Because the taskbar is no longer docked, maximized windows can now overlap the NextSTART taskbar, which is less than ideal - to help alleviate this you either:

1. Set the taskbar to 'Always keep above other windows' (Taskbar Settings dialog)

or

2. Enable 'Bring taskbar forward when the mouse pointer bumps screen edge' (Taskbar Settings dialog -> Advanced), this should allow you to bring the taskbar above a maximized window when needed by bumping the bottom screen edge with the mouse pointer.

or

3. Manually Reserve Screen Space so the taskbar is within a reserved section (Preferences -> General tab). The only problem with this is that since to Windows everything is a single monitor, screen space will be reserved on all 3 monitors, even the ones who do not show the taskbar.
