In my point of view it is way too early to start doing any testing for it. I mean, how many people (people, not companies! ) do you know with 64 bit machines? Also, as far as I know (and given MS's proven concern with backwards compatibility), Win32 applications should function without change on the new 64 bit environment.

Then I guess that means adoption of 64 bit systems is going to take a very long time... unless a killer 64 bit application (or, more likely, a game) shows up in the mean time.

Good news on the Win 64 bit front! :-)

Marty Felker, a long time Winstep user, just managed to install NextSTART and WorkShelf on Windows 64 bit. The only problem is that the 64 bit version no longer includes the VB5 runtime libraries with the OS. All this means is that, prior to installing Winstep software, you will have to download and install the VB5 libraries. You can obtain the libraries as a single, self-executable file, directly from Microsoft, here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q180071/

Marty also mentioned that NextStart and Workshelf are one of the most responsive 32 bit applications you can run on WinXP x64. :D
