I don't know yet. I have that option disabled here because it never worked properly for me, and I use Monitor Keeper instead.

Monitor Keeper does not interfere with the special windows used for docks and shelves. I do not yet know exactly how Windows treats those windows when its own location-restoration option is enabled, so it is a variable worth investigating.

When a change affects the display configuration, such as a monitor being added or removed or its resolution or DPI changing, Windows broadcasts a WM_DISPLAYCHANGE message. Importantly, this message is sent after the display configuration has already changed.

The Winstep multi-monitor code assumes that the application remains responsible for the authoritative positions and sizes of docks and shelves when that message arrives. If Windows also tries to restore or alter the position and size of those windows, it could interfere with the display-change sequence.

This does not necessarily mean that Windows is overwriting the saved Winstep positions, because Winstep maintains its own internal coordinates. Nevertheless, the Windows setting could be triggering or exposing the problem.

It is very difficult to determine exactly what is happening because the problem is also timing-related. Otherwise, the shelves and docks would appear in the wrong positions every single time, which they do not.

The previous last days i did also not have issues on hibernate, so it could not give you more info on the ini files.
