Hello,

I am trying to launch a Shelf and navigate within the container using directional keys automatically. As of now, once the shelf opens it seems it is necessary to click the container first before being able to use the directional keys.

Does anyone know if there is a way to give the Shelf container focus or priority to allow directional key control when launching?

Only the active window has the keyboard focus. That is how Windows works.

Activating the shelf gives it focus, so you should be able to use the arrow keys to navigate the shelf.

You can also assign a hotkey to each tab, which will activate the shelf and switch to that tab. Then you can also use the arrow keys, etc, to navigate the shelf (press ENTER to launch an item)

Thank you for your reply.

All of what you say here is true, but for some reason (and it may well be user error)
when I open the shelf it uniquely does not become the active window until after it
is clicked. This has been my experience even when lanuching with hotkey triggers and when I have the shelf open “above all other windows” setting active.

Comparatively, the Grid Stack and the other elements become the active window when
Launched automatically. I can use directional keys as soon as they open.

Perhaps I am still missing something?

Exactly HOW are you opening the shelf?

It will tell you which window is the current foreground/active window. What does it show when you open the shelf?
