My tray clock for some time now (months) occasionally disappears for some reason which I cannot associate with anything in particular. It just did so upon rebooting! I can get the clock to reappear by closing & reopening the StartBar (by clicking on end-buttons). Any ideas, Jorge? Thanks.

John

Hey John! Do you have your Startbar set to be 'Always on Top' ?

OK. You have just fixed the 8.2 problem with Nexus not responding to edge bumps. So, any news on this thread problem (regarding the tray clock)??

John

PS I assume these recent fixes will eventually appear in a beta. Correct?

Knock, knock!

Who's there?

I'm still here. I'll fix that problem before the next release. And the fixes will appear in the betas, yes. :D

Yes, seems like it, but it only happens when the startbar is set to Always on Top.

Jorge:

Hate to say it, but this problem has not been fixed in today's WSXtreme 8.5 beta1 release. What's up?

Jorge:

What's up, doc? This problem still exists even after installing 8.5 beta2!!!

Is this problem not fixable??

Also, when hovering my cursor over a systray icon, the balloon text often appears behind the system tray & cannot be read. This problem has been around for a while! Do you ever get this problem?

John, all of those problems occur because the startbar is set to Always on Top. I don't think the systray icon balloon text problem, for instance, can be fixed because it actually depends on Explorer, not NextSTART (try temporarily disabling NextSTART task management and setting the Windows taskbar to Always on Top, though).

For the moment, the best thing to do is to set your Startbar to normal Z-Order.

Jorge,
Actually, it now appears to have nothing to do with the Start-bar being on top! Both these problems seem to be intermittent. With the Start-bar set to "always on top", sometimes both problems can take place & sometimes they both behave properly. It just does not seem to make any sense. What I can say is that at some point in the past, neither of these issues was a problem!
