Hi, I'm testing xtreme and find the multiple docks idea great! But is there a way to change the NexUs icon on the different docks?

Yes, but you have to be aware that it is on a per-theme base.

For instance, suppose the current theme is Aero LowRes. What you do is to put a custom NxControl.png/icon image in the Aero LowRes theme folder (easiest way to open this folder: open the 'Themes' shelf, right click on 'Aero LowRes' and select 'Show Container').

Since each theme can have a different NeXuS control icon, you will have to repeat the above steps for each of the themes you are using.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the quick reply. Well, that's fine for a start. I hope a next version could allow to customize the NeXus icon to anything else though. I would like to have all my graphics apps on a dock collapsable to a more representative icon, and so on with all other apps.

Ah, I see where you are getting at. :D

Still, you are aware that NeXuS supports sub-docks, no?

Yep. Well, I'm still testing - not in full mode.

Anyway, I want to completely walk away from trees and hierarchical folder systems and have like different areas scattered throughout the desktop, graphically identifiable, containing groups of files / folder / apps.

I was thinking at achieving the same effect while covering single dock controllers with customized web objects - I vaguely remember, there was a way to put such things on the top of the wallpaper via "active desktop" on XP or win98SE. :?

I'm trying and comparing NeXus and ObjectDock, and I see a lot of potential on NeXus' side to breaking the mould :!:
