Since installing the latest beta of NextStart, I have received this error from NOD32 Antivirus:

C:\Program Files\Winstep\Nextstart3.exe - probably unknown NewHeur_PE virus

NextSTART infected with a virus?!!! Nah. Not with my firewall, Anti Virus software, triple anti-spyware protection and automatic XP auto-update turned on. No way. Only time I ever caught a virus was when I borrowed a game from a friend. That was many years ago, when I had my first PC for 3 months. Never again.

So, no, false alarm. What is NOD32 anyway?!

Thanks Jorge...

With the latest beta, the error has gone away, it may be because I have the advanced heuristics turned on.

I never saw this notice before and it made me a bit paranoid, hence the heads up 8)

I have a hardware firewall running as well, and h 8) ghly recommend it to everyone, I am using Level-One, it does a beautiful job:

Anyway, great work on Winstep... I don't use Workshelf because I'm still waiting for the Nexus

I get it too. I couldn't even intall the beta with Nod 32 running. I assumed it was a false alarm as I have never had a problem with Winstep software in the past. :D

It's just antivirus software, nice and lite on resources but does on occasion give a false alarm. I disabled it to install the new betas and turned off the advanced heuristics and so far no more false warnings. :D
