I am using version 8.11. WS is set to auto-collapse with a short delay time.
I have to L-click for the shelf to collapse.

Whoa!!!!! Just discovered that the shelf does auto-collapse ONLY when any other window is open!!! Huh............

The Workshelf will only collapse when it loses "focus", so you have to click elsewhere (like on desktop or other app is open).

If you don't click away from workshelf, it assumes you are still using it and does not collapse.

It should collapse when NOT in another app too...e.g., just click on the desktop and it should collapse.

I am not sure if Jorge can set it up to collapse without a click somewhere.

kwickone: funny, I would have sworn it has always "auto-collapsed" . Otherwise, what does the preference "auto-collapse" refer to?

Well, it does auto-collapse....sorta....after you click elsewhere.

Jorge, can you jump onto this thread and give us the definitive answer.

You're right, Kwick, the shelf (and dock) will only auto-collapse when focus is lost.

This is by design and was implemented in version 8.9 (previously it was not like this, and, at the time 8.9 was in beta I asked for feedback regarding this change in the Beta Forums - nobody seemed to be bothered, quite the oposite in fact).
